שָׁפֵלI (b. h.; Shaf. of נ־פל) to be low. Hif. הִשְׁפִּיל to lower, humble. Erub.13b המַשְׁפִּיל עצמו; הקב״ה מַשְׁפִּילו, v. גָּבַהּ; Ned.55a. Pesik.
