לַהַגm. (b. h.; denom. of הָגָה) study. Num. R. s. 14 (ref. to Koh. 12:12) אם יגעת הרבה בל׳ דבריוכ׳ if thou takest great pains in the study of the words of the wise (v. Erub.21b כל ההוגה בהןוכ׳).

Y.Peah I, 15d top (ref. to Prov. 30:17) עין שהִלְעִיגָה עלוכ׳ the eye that mocked at the law commanding to honor father and mother and despised the law (Deut. 22:6) Erub.21b (ref. to להג, Koh. 12:12) כל המַלְעִיג עלוכ׳ whosoever derides the words of the wise, v. לַעַג. Gen. R. s. 94 מַלְעִיגִים בשפתותיהן spoke lasciviously. Esth. R. to III, 9 מַלְעִיגִין אותנווכ׳ they deride us and our religion. Num. R. s. 16 הִלְעִיגוּ לי they spoke irreverently of me.
