הֶגְמוֹנְיָא, הֶגְמוֹנְיָהf. (ἡγεμονία) 1) commandership, consulship. Gen. R. s. 50, beg.; Lev. R. s. 26 נטלה׳וכ׳ got an appointment as a consul from the King. Cant. R. to I, 6; Lam. R., introd. (R. Yitsḥ. 3) וכולן עשו ישראלה׳ (אחת)וכ׳ and Israel declared all these gods one government and worshipped all of them; Esth. R. to I, 9 אומוניאה (read: אֶגְמוֹנִיאָה, cmp. אֶגְמוֹן).Pl. הֶגְמוֹנִיּוֹת staff of commanding officers. Tanḥ.
