ילפת

יַלֶּפֶתf. (b. h.; ילף, cmp. לפף) lichen, a cutaneous disease. Bekh.41a י׳ זו חזזיתוכ׳ yallefeth is the Egyptian lichen, v. חֲזָזִית.

חֲזָזִיתf. ( חזז to make incisions) lichen, a cutaneous disease connected with desquamation and sometimes ulceration. Bekh.VI, 12 בעל ח׳ an animal afflicted with lichen. Ib. 41a (expl. ילפת, Lev. 22:22) ח׳ המצרית Egyptian lichen; ח׳ דעלמא ordinary lichen.Succ.III, 6 (34b) עלתה ח׳ if an Ethrog is covered with lichen (scabs).
