טְרִי, טְרָא,( to set in motion, 1) to shake. Ḥull.45b טַרְיֵיה לרישיה shook his head constantly; (Ar.: he bumped his head, shocked his brain). Ib. 51a, v. טְרַח II. 2) to throw, cast; to squirt, drip. Tam.32b ט׳ באפיה sprinkled his face (with that water). Sabb.108b מהו למִטְרָאוכ׳ Ar. (ed. למימשי, Ms. O. למישרא, v. Rabb. D. טָרִיתָא, טָרִיch. 1) same. Y.Ned.VI, 39d top זבין לי טריוכ׳ (not ליטרי) sell me tari, and he sells him tsaḥăna (v. צַחֲנָא). Ib. תמן … לט׳וכ׳ (not ליט׳) there they call taritha tsaḥăna. 2) (cmp. אִטְּרִי) a sort of pastry, fritters Ber.37b, v. הִנְדְּקָא a. גְּבִיל.

אָרַג(b. h.; √אר, v. ארב; cmp. חרג) to plait, braid, weave. Sabb.VII, 2 האוֹרֵג he who weaves on the Sabbath; a. fr.Metaph. (cmp. טרי) to argue, conclude, spin out, deduct Ruth R., Par. 2, beg. (play on orgim 2 Sam. 21:19) they brought a subject up והוא אוֹרְגָהּ and he carried it to a conclusive decision. Ib. שהיו אוֹרְגִין עמו they argued with him.Num.
