    פְּקַעch. sam( Hif. הִפְקִיעַ to split, break open), to burst, break, escape. Pes.85b פ׳ איגרא the roof burst, v. זֵיתָא I. B. Mets.20b פ׳ ארזאוכ׳ the cedar pillar of the school was cracked, v. לָתָא. Ab. Zar.33b פַּקְעוּ they (the vessels) burst. Ib. 28b פַּקְעָא עינא her eye burst (fell out). Y.M. Kat.
