תְּקִועָהf. (תָּקֵּע) blowing the Shofar; esp. tḳiʿah, a succession of connected notes (v. שֶׁבֶר I). R. Hash. 34a, v. שֶׁבֶר I. Ib. 30a תְּקִיעַתר״ה ויובל blowing on the New Years day and in announcing the jubilee. Ib. IV, 9 (33b) שיעור ת׳וכ׳ (not תקיעות) the value of a tḳiʿah is equal to the length of three truʿoth; a. fr.Pl. תְּקִיעוֹת. Ib. סדר ת׳ שלשוכ׳ the order of the blowing of the Shofar is this: three soundings, each consisting of three tunes (tḳiaʿh, truʿah, tḳiʿah). Ib. 34a שתי ת׳ לכל אחת ואחת two tḳiʿoth for each sounding; תרועות ושש ת׳וכ׳ three truʿoth and six tḳiʿoth are sounded on the New Years day.
