Sam. 109 (play on צ̇ל̇צ̇ח̇, 1 Sam. 10:2) צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇ יום bright is the shadow of the day (of Saul); צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇ של זקן ומלכיםוכ׳ bright was the shade (declining day) of the patriarch (to whom it was said at Bethel), ‘and kings shall proceed from thee (Gen. 35:11); Midr. Sam. ch. XIV צלצח של הזקן (read: צ̇ל̇צ̇ח̇ צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇וכ׳). 2) brightness. Ib. צלצח כצַחוֹ של יום (read: צֵל צַח) a shade bright as the brightness of the (full) day.
