ברחא

בַּרְחָאm. ( ברח, v. בָּרַח 1) ( one that breaks through, cmp. Mic. 2:13;) leader of the flock (h. עַתּוּד), bell-wether, buck. Y.B. Kam.X, end, 7c if the restored sheep is as distinguishable כגון אהן ב׳ as the barḥa. Ib. what does כגון אהן ב׳ mean? Some say חוטרא, v. פַּנְדּוּרָא a. מַשְׂכּוֹכִית. Bab. ib. 20a top. Ib. 48a. פַּנְדּוּרָהf. (πανδοῦρα, v. Hesych. s. v.) pandean pipe (syrinx), the shepherds pipe. Y.B. Bath.VII, end, 15d נותן לו כמין פ׳ he must give him a portion of his field in the shape of a syrinx (a quadrangle one side of which is half as long as its opposite). Ib. III, beg.13d (expl. מַשְׁכּוֹכִיתָא) אית דמרין פ׳ (ed. פנדודה, corr. acc.) some say, the deliverance of the shepherds pipe (as symbolical possession); Y.B.
