בָּחַר(b. h.; √בח, v. preced.) 1) to try, examine; v. infra. 2) (with ב) to choose, select, prefer. Tanḥ. Mishp. 11 בָּחַרְתָּ ביסורים יותרוכ׳ thou didst prefer sufferings to poverty. Mass.
