λυγκούριον, τό, auch λιγκούριον u. λιγγούριον geschrieben, entweder eine rothgelbe, durchsichtige Bernsteinart, od. ein ins Röthliche spielender Hyacinth, der zu Siegelsteinen verarbeitet wurde, Theophr. u. Diosc. Einige betrachten das Wort als ein Compositum λυγκός-οὖρος, weil man den Stein für versteinerten Luchsharn gehalten habe, vgl. S. Emp. pyrrh. 1, 119; Andere leiten es von den Λίγυες ab, von denen der Stein zu den Griechen gekommen sei.
