Gutt. 125; s. καρβάτινος), is rejected by Fraenkel Lit. et. Wb. s. v. prob. rightly. Not with Haupt Actes du 16e congres des orientalistes (1912) from Babyl. kipir, kipru `quay, asphalt-covering'. Lat. LW [loanword] crēpīda `half-boot', crēpīdō `stone basis etc.'; cf.
