(2) übh. wegnehmen, entfernen, beseitigen, auch von Gemütsaffekten; ἐξέλοιμεν ἀλλήλων τὴν ἀπιστίαν, das Misstrauen entfernen; ὀρϑῶς ἂν ἐξαιροῖμεν τοὺς ϑρήνους τῶν ὀνομαστῶν ἀνδρῶν, wie τοὺς ὀδυρμούς, die Klagen um die Männer aufheben; νεῖκος πατρός, aufheben; τοῠ μὲν φρένας ἐξέλετο Ζεύς, den Verstand nehmen; mit dem Nebenbegriffe des gewaltsamen Entreißens, ἐξελέσϑαι τινὰ ϑυμόν; rauben; ἐκ τῶν κινδύνων, den Gefahren entreißen; οὔτε γὰρ τὸ γνῶναι καὶ δοκιμάσαι τὸ βέλτιστον ἐξελέσϑαι δύναιτ' ἂν ὑμῶν οὐδὲ εἷς, das kann euch keiner entreißen. Auch im pass., ἐξαιρεϑέντες τὸν Δημοκήδεα, denen Demokedes entrissen worden; τὸ ἐπιϑυμοῠν τοῠ πλοῦ οὐκ ἐξῃρέϑησαν, die Lust wurde ihnen nicht genommen, wie ἐξαιρεϑέντας ἀδικίαν ὑπὸ τοῦ διδασκάλου, denen vom Lehrer die Ungerechtigkeit benommen, die davon befreit sind. Bes. (a) ἐξαιρεῖσϑαί τινα εἰς ἐλευϑερίαν, in libertatem vindicsre. (b) eine Ausnahme machen mit etwas, ausnehmen, bei Seite setzen; μητέρας ἐξελόντες, mit Ausnahme der Mütter; Σιμμίαν ἐξαιρῶ λόγου, den S. nehme ich aus; ἐξελόντες τὰς ἀντιμοιρίας, von der Erbschaft bei Seite legen; τὸ μέσον τούτων ἐξεῖλες, du hast es übergangen.
