The Myc. form has -e- as variant of -i-, which points to a Pre-Greek word (see Bader, Type Demiourgos $ 23; Chadwick, Myc. Studies Wingspread, 19-21; cf. on δίσκος); on Pre-Greek u-stems Heubeck, Praegraeca 36; to avoid this conclusion Chantraine, REG 80 (1967)1-5 assumes deiktu- for Mycenaean.
