עָפַף(reduplic. of עוּף II) to fly around. Midr. Till. to Ps. 18:5 אל תקרי אפפוני אלא עֲפָפוּנִי הצרות טסותוכ׳ read not ăfafuni (with א) but ‘ăfafuni (with ע׳), troubles come flying over me like birds; Yalk. Sam. 157.
