Nota d'usoIl sostantivo economia può essere tradotto con “economy” o “economics”, a seconda del contesto d'uso. Quando ci si riferisce alla disciplina di studio, il termine corretto è “economics”: Studia economia, she studies economics (non she studies economy). “Economics” è seguito dal verbo al singolare e non è preceduto dall'articolo: La micro-economia è una materia difficile, micro-economics is a difficult subject. Quando invece si parla dell'economia di un paese, o di un sistema economico si utilizza il sostantivo “economy”: L'economia britannica si sta riprendendo, the British economy is picking up.
