         ♦ "И как это вы не боитесь, барин, право!" - обратился к Пьеру краснорожий широкий солдат... "А ты разве боишься?" - спросил Пьер. "А то как же?" - ответил солдат (Толстой 6). "How is it you're not afraid, sir? Really, now!" a red-faced, broad-shouldered soldier asked Pierre.... "Are you afraid, then?" asked Pierre "Of course, what do you expect?" replied the soldier (6a).

         ♦ "Грибы, должно, пойдут после этого дождя", - сказала Анфиса. "Пойдут", - вяло отозвался Лукашин. "Люди уже носят". - " Грибы? А то как же! Харч". (Абрамов 1). "There should be some mushrooms after this rain," Anfisa said. "Yes," Lukashin answered limply. "People are already bringing them in." "Mushrooms? You bet-good grub" (1a).
         ♦ [1-й мужик:] А тысячу-то отдали? [Яков:] А то как же?.. [2-й мужик:] То-то шальные деньги-то (Толстой 3). [First Pfeasant:] And did they give him the thousand? [Ya.:] I should say they did. [Second Peasant:] That's real easy money (3a).
