символ Teua\ \ телурen\ \ telluriumde\ \ Tellurfr\ \ \ tellureэлемент №52 периодической системы Д.И.Менделеева (VI группа, 5 период), атомная масса 127,60; известны 32 изотопа с массовымми числами 107—138; типичные степени окисления: +II, +IV, +VI; серебристо-серое кристаллическое вещество с металлическим блеском; хорошо проводит теплоту и электрический ток, приближаясь в этом от ношении к металлам; обладает также полупроводниковыми свойствами; легко соединяется с металлами, образуя теллуриды; Tпл 725 К; входит в состав многих минералов (калаверит, гессит и другие); происхождение названия — в честь Земли, от латинского tellus — земля; открыт в 1782 году Ф.Мюллер фон Райхенштейном (Венгрия); применяют для синтеза теллуридов и их сплавов для полупроводниковой техники, как легирующую добавку к чугуну, сталям,меди, свинцу и др.
