Не имеющие экстренного характера вывоз или массовое перемещение людей с загрязненной территории (зоны) с целью предотвращения хронического облучения. Переселение является одной из долгосрочных защитных мер. Оно может быть продолжением срочных защитных мер эвакуации. Переселение считается переселением на постоянное жительство {permanent relocation} (иногда в англоязычных текстах используется термин ‘resettlement’ {переселение}), если его продолжительность превышает один или два года и возвращение не предусматривается; в противном случае оно квалифицируется как временное переселение {temporary relocation}.
