1881-1959Uno de los patriarcas del viejo cine de Hollywood. Poderoso realizador en el periodo mudo, su inspiracion fue descendiendo a medida que el cine sonoro ganaba capacidad de expresion, lo que no fue obice para que sus peliculas resultaran siempre muy populares. Desmedido, por lo habitual, en la extension de sus largometrajes, a Cecil B. De Mille se deben cinco westerns sonoros muy del gusto del publico de la epoca, que nunca dejaran de verse, aunque sea a traves de la pequena pantalla. Conceptualmente po co solido, no se puede negar que la mayoria de las peliculas que dirigio constituyen hermosos espectaculos visuales.
