Но есть и другие, и не менее популярные:Make (to) — сделать именно то, что малыш часто делает в штаны (мягкое выражение, по отношению к малышу - в самый раз).
Make a stop (to) — прерваться, сделать паузу, но:
Make a pit stop (to) — остановить машину, чтобы сходить в туалет. Тоже мягкое выражение, но уже про взрослых. Pit - это вообще-то яма, а выражение "pit stop" пошло из практики автогонок (ралли), где приходится иногда на короткое время останавливать машину для мелкого ремонта. Ремонт этот делают в яме (pit) механики, ну а гонщик, разумеется, тоже использует этот перерыв с толком. См. PIT STOP и цв. илл. (Аж целый магазин для pitstop'а. Mart — это как бы сокращение от слова "супермаркет" — здесь длинных слов не любят (K-Mart, Walmart ну и Pitstop Mart, конечно).).
Make a scene (to) — закатить истерику. Но важна роль артикля:
Make the scene (to) — добиться успеха, сделать что-то, или прибыть куда-то.
Makings — составляющие, ингредиенты, компоненты; то, из чего сделано.
Make waves (to) — как и в русском, "гнать волну", создавать людям проблемы.

Make whoopee (to) — еще одно более мягкое выражение для обозначения того же "fuck". Whoopee - это звук, который издает кушетка, когда... ну, в общем, понятно?Вообще-то можно и просто сказать (*) to make (отделать в смысле - отодрать, оттрахать), но это будет без юмора и грубовато.(*)
Make — употребляется и в значении "объект для (*)to make" (см. выше).Make my day! — Давай-давай! Советуем выражение запомнить. Это не поощрение, а угроза - ты, мол, давай, сделай тот самый необдуманный шаг, о котором сейчас думаешь - а я тебе обеспечу все последствия, с нашим большим удовольствием. Но выражение может использоваться и в прямом смысле, без сарказма, все зависит от тона речи.
