[греч. phos (photos) — свет и лат. receptor — принимающий]светочувствительные и светопринимающие биологические образования, способные генерировать физиологический сигнал в ответ на поглощение кванта света. У животных Ф. представлены разнообразными структурами (от сигмы у одноклеточных организмов до высокочувствительных клеток сетчатки глаза у млекопитающих).
