[греч. pha(gos) — пожирающий и англ. (pla)smid, от греч. plasma — нечто образованное, сформированное]гибридный вектор, состоящий из частей генома фага (см. фаг) и плазмиды (см. плазмида). Ф. после встройки в нее чужеродной клонируемой ДНК в одних условиях развивается как фаг, а в других — как плазмида. Обычно в Ф. входят бактериальная плазмида с ориджином репликации и нуклеотидные последовательности фага лямбда: один ориджин репликации и один или более сайтов прикрепления. Чужеродная ДНК может быть клонирована в плазмидный вектор обычными методами. Такую рекомбинантную плазмиду затем можно встроить в фаговый геном с помощью att-сайтов фага (см. сайт присоединения).
