Обмолвки, ошибки памяти и подобные им феномены, обсуждаемые Фрейдом в его работе "Психопатология обыденной жизни". Все они представляют собой симптоматические действия, обусловленные бессознательными мотивами; они являются компромиссными образованиями между запретными побуждения или идеями и влияниями цензуры. В ошибочных действиях особенно ярко проявляется принцип психического детерминизма.Основной механизм ошибочных действий — вытеснение — тесно связан с контркатексисом. Психическая энергия распределяется между функциями Я и Оно и используется для регуляции конфликтов, связанных с поиском удовольствия, а также для разрядки влечений. Тенденции, приводящие к конфликту, включают в себя сексуальность, агрессию, силу и слабость, контроль или его отсутствие.
