21 other
He has two daughters, one is six, the other is only two — У него две дочери — одной шесть лет, другой только два.
I see only two of my books, where are the others?
Let others talk, we must act —
II a 1.
Это же значение другой, другие, не этот с существительными в единственном числе передается прилагательным another:Show me another hat of a different colour — Покажите мне другую шляпу, другого цвета.
I took only two books and gave the other books to my friends — Я взял только две книги, а остальные отдал друзьям.
(5). Русскому другой в значении не такой, например, он другой человек, он стал другим соответствует английское прилагательное different:She is quite a different person. He came back a different man — Он вернулся другим человеком.
He has different plans —
(6). Словосочетания the other day, the other year соответствуют русским на днях, несколько лет тому назад, если событие относится к прошлому. (7). See other, n. -
