¿ Kultur?Guy Fawkes gehörte der katholischen Verschwörung von 1605 an, die als derGunpowder Plot - Pulververschwörung in die Geschichte einging. Die Verschwörer versuchten, die englischen Houses of Parliament - Parlamentsgebäude zu sprengen, während König James I. dort mit seinen Ministern tagte. Am 5. November wurde Guy Fawkes dabei ertappt, wie er den Sprengstoff im Keller auslegte. Er wurde daraufhin gefoltert, vor Gericht gestellt und dann gehängt. Dieses Ereignis wird jedes Jahr immer noch in der Nacht vom 5. November, der Guy Fawkes Night, mit bonfire parties - Freudenfeuer gefeiert, bei denen ein guy - eine Stoffpuppe auf einem Scheiterhaufen verbrannt wird. -
