[лат. helix — спираль]ферменты, расплетающие двухцепочечные ДНК или РНК у вирусов, бактерий и эукариот. ДНК-Г. участвуют во всех процессах, происходящих с разделением родительских цепей ДНК — репликации, репарации, рекомбинации и транскрипции. РНК-Г. участвуют в биогенезе рибосом, транскрипции мРНК, сплайсинге пре-мРНК, созревании и транспорте РНК в цитоплазму. Все эти процессы осуществляются за счет энергии гидролиза АТФ, т.е. Г. обладают активностью АТФазы (см. аденозинтрифосфатазы). Термин "Г." предложен К. Гайдером с соавт. в 1978 г.Толковый биотехнологический словарь. Русско-английский. > геликазы
