[греч. hals (halos) — соль и phileo — люблю]организмы, обитающие только в условиях высокой солености (в морях, соленых озерах, засоленных почвах и т.п.). В бактериях-Г. в большом количестве содержится бактериородопсин (см. бактериородопсин). Экстремальные Г. развиваются в средах с концентрацией хлорида натрия 15—32 % (напр., бактерии родов Halobacterium и Halococcus).
