На студии, в павильоне № 48, закончились съемки музыкальной сцены, и продюсер Фрэнклин Пэнгборн среди страшного шума, с которым рабочие воздвигают декорации, пытается прослушать молодую певицу Глорию Джин, племянницу У.К. И все-таки, какого бы мнения мы о ней ни были, она не имеет ничего общего с тяжеловесным, вымученным чудачеством и надоедливыми намеками Распрочертовски, Hellzapoppin' (фильма, выпущенного студией «Universal» несколькими месяцами позднее).
