Alli realiza su primera pelicula sonora y, ademas, debido a sus conocimientos del idioma, las versiones espanolas de cuatro filmes, entre ellos el celeberrimo Dracula, en 1931. Lejos ya su etapa de actor, sigue dirigiendo hasta 1937, mas un ultimo filme en 1946. En 1939 vuelve a su ocupacion primera, de actor, ahora en pequenos papeles, la mayoria de ellos sin acreditacion.
