Geruch zu geben, Cato u. Colum. – II) meton.: A) eine aus der wohlriechenden Binsenart bereitete wohlfeile Salbe, die Binsensalbe, mit der sich öffentliche Dirnen salbten, schoeno delibutae, Plaut. Poen. 267. – B) ein griechisches Landmaß, nach dem man, wie in Italien nach der pertica, erobertes Land ausmaß u. unter die Ansiedler verteilte; dann auch ein persisches u. ägyptisches Landmaß, gewöhnlich zwischen 30 und 60 Stadien gerechnet, Plin. 6, 125 u. 12, 53.
