עני, עָנָהI (b. h.) (to turn, come out in turn, to begin to speak; to respond; to speak or sing in chorus; to answer. Tem.16a ע̇תנ̇יא̇ל̇ שעֲנָאו̇ א̇ל̇ he was surnamed Othniel, because God answered his prayer (ref. to 1 Chr. 4:10).
