1.1) натчезыИндейское племя, обитавшее на юго-западе Миссисипи, в 1650 насчитывало 4,5 тыс. человек. Поначалу поддерживали дружественные отношения с французами, разрешили им построить форт Розали [Fort Rosalie] на своей территории (1716), но после двух вооруженных конфликтов с ними (1723, 1730) около 450 индейцев были проданы в рабство на о. Гаити, более 300 человек присоединились к крикской конфедерации [ Creek Confederacy], остальные влились в племена чикасо [ Chickasaw] и чокто [ Choctaw]. Ныне натчезы (около 100 человек) вместе с криками [ Creek] живут на территории племени чероки [ Cherokee] на востоке Оклахомы2.Принадлежит к натчезо-мускогской группе [ Natchez-Muskogean] -
