1 ἄνεως
ἄνεως, wird als att. Form von einem ungebräuchlichen, von αὔω »schreien« abgeleiteten ἄναυος, ἄν-ᾱος betrachtet; hierzu passen sehr gutsieben Homerische Stellen: ἄνεῳ ἐγένεσϑε Iliad. 2, 323, ἄνεῳ ἐγένοντο Iliad. 3. 84 Od. 7, 144. 10, 71, ἄνεῳ ἦσαν Iliad. 9, 30. 695, ἄνεῳ ἧσϑε Od. 2, 240; dagegen Od. 23, 93 ἡ δ' ἄνεω δὴν ἧστο will nicht passend erscheinen, da ἄνεωschwerlich nom. fem. sing. sein kann, was es nach Analogie der andern Stellen doch sein müßte. Buttmann Lexil. 2, 1 ff nimmt es überall als adverb., indem er an allen Stellen ἄνεω ohne das ι schreibt; vgl. ἀκέων u. ἀκήν. Die Sache ist sehr zweifelhaft. Bekker hat (in der Ausgabe von 1843 u. inder von 1858) Od. 2, 240, 7, 144. 10, 71 ἄνεῳ mit dem ι, in den andern Stellen ἄνεω ohne das ι. Doch ist die Bedeutung sicher: still, stumm, schweigend, ruhig. Bei Her. 5, 28 ist für ἄνεως κακῶν gewiß richtig ἄνεσις aufgenommen. Sonst noch Lp. Ep., wie Ap. Rh.
