רִיבּוּי, רִבּ׳m. (רָבָה) 1) increase, plenty. Esth. R. end מדות … בשפע בפירוי ובר׳ the good dispensations of the Lord come with liberality, fruitfulness, and plenty. 2) (sub. בגדים) larger number of garments, investment of the high priest with the eight official garments. Yoma 5a (ref. to Ex. 29:29 sq.) איתקש משיחה לר׳ מהר׳וכ׳ the anointing is put on a level with the investment, as the investment is continued for seven days, so is the anointing Ib. ר׳ שבעה … איכא בינייהו they differ as to the seven days of investment and the seven days of anointment; a. e. 3) extension of scope, widening qualification, amplification, opp. מִיעוּט.
