Best with Buttmann Lexilogus 1, 141 as *Ϝέκᾱλος (= γέκαλον ἥσυχον H.; on the digamma also Chantraine Gramm. hom. 1, 129f.) to *Ϝέκᾰ in ἑκά-εργος (s. v.) a. o. with suffixal -ᾱλος, - ηλος (Chantr. Form. 241f., Schwyzer 484), so prop.
