(1848-1887) Парсонс, Алберт РичардДеятель рабочего движения, анархист. Во время Гражданской войны [ Civil War], будучи подростком, воевал на стороне конфедератов [ Confederates]. После войны купил в Техасе землю, нанял на работу бывших рабов. В 1868 издавал газету "Спектейтор" [Spectator], в которой поддерживал Реконструкцию [ Reconstruction]. В 1873 переехал в Чикаго, работал там печатником, вступил в профсоюз. В 1876 вступил в профсоюз "Рыцари труда" [ Knights of Labor], был одним из создателей местного отделения, активно сотрудничал с социалистами, поддерживал движение за 8-часовой рабочий день. К 1880 разочаровался в политике, обратился к анархизму. Участвовал в съездах Международной ассоциации рабочих людей [International Working People's Association (IWPA)] (1881, 1883). Наряду с другими агитаторами-анархистами обвинен в подстрекательстве к нападению на полицию в ходе демонстрации 4 мая 1886 [ Haymarket Massacre]. Присяжные, несмотря на отсутствие прямых доказательств их вины, признали обвиняемых виновными. Казнен 11 ноября 1887 и стал героем-мучеников для целого поколения рабочих. истдвижение "Социальное Евангелие"Родилось в недрах протестантской церкви США как реакция на кризисное состояние экономики в начале 1870-х и консерватизм церковных организаций. В 1870-1918 либеральные круги протестантских церквей в Америке осуществили попытку добиться решения социальных проблем трудящихся на основе христианских евангельских заповедей. Костяк движения составил Христианский рабочий союз [Christian Labor Union] во главе с Дж. Джоунсом [Jones, Jesse] и Э. Роджерсом [Rogers, Edward]. Движение находилось под мощным воздействием книги В. Глэддена [Gladden, Washington] "Рабочий люд и его наниматели" [Working People and Their Employers] (1876). К 1907 самым влиятельным идеологом движения стал У. Раушенбуш [ Rauschenbusch, Walter].
