В рамках своей Олимпийской маркетинговой программы компания Samsung построит собственный павильон Olympic RendezvousSamsung, где будут представлены новейшие разработки компании в области беспроводных коммуникационных технологий. Кроме того, данный павильон будет служить центром отдыха для спортсменов, их семей, а также болельщиков. Компания Samsung открывает павильон OR@S на всех Олимпийских и Паралимпийских играх, начиная с Игр 2000 года в Сиднее.

Размещение рекламы в зоне проведения соревнований во время Игр не допускается. Сложность осуществления Программы по размещению рекламы состоит в том, чтобы, с одной стороны, предоставить спонсорам хорошие места и возможности для рекламы своего бренда, а с другой – обеспечить чистоту и надлежащий вид игровых полей. Это достигается благодаря вовлечению спонсоров в Программу «Образ Игр». Игры являются единственным в мире крупным спортивным соревнованием, в рамках которого запрещается размещение рекламы на стадионах или одежде спортсменов.

field of play advertising (FPA)
No field of play advertising is permitted at the Games. The challenge of the FPA program is to ensure that sponsors are provided with the good branding opportunities and locations possible, while ensuring a clean and well-presented Field of Play that can be identified as being part of the Games. This is achieved through integrating sponsors into the Look of the Games program. The Games are the only major sporting event in the world, where there no advertising is allowed either in stadium or on athletes.

penalty shot (PS)
Special case of penalty in the ice hockey for cases in which a scoring opportunity was lost as a result of an infraction (like being tripped or hooked while on a breakaway). The player who was deprived of the opportunity, or one chosen by the team, is allowed an unchallenged opportunity to score on the opposing goalkeeper as compensation.
