Доход человека подразделяется на трудовой и нетрудовой (unearned income). Под трудовым доходом подразумевается заработная плата, жалованье, гонорары, комиссионные, а также прибыль от предпринимательской деятельности. Нетрудовой доход - это прибыль, полученная от использования природных ресурсов и капитала в виде ренты, дивидендов или процентов. Трудовой доход обычно облагается налогом по прогрессивной шкале. Экономическая наука не проводит различия между этими доходами, поскольку подразумевается, что все факторы производства приносят доход. Cм.
