Fue productor, por ejemplo, de la celebre serie de television El fugitivo (The Fugitive). Como guionista son destacables Fiebre de venganza (Gun Fury, Raoul Walsh, 1953), western de magnifico nivel que preludia la magnifica heptalogia de Budd Boetticher, y La calle 99 (Pushover, Richard Quine, 1954), depurada muestra de cine negro en la linea de Perdicion (Double Indemnity, Billy Wilder, 1945)Hangman’s Knot (Los forasteros). 1952. 84 minutos.
