Nota d'usoPoiché most seguito da aggettivo o da avverbio può anche significare molto, estremamente (► B, def. 3) e poiché, quando forma il superlativo relativo, in determinati casi può non essere preceduto da the, esistono frasi in cui il suo significato risulta ambiguo, ad esempio: I find Sarah's argument most persuasive può voler dire a) il ragionamento di Sarah mi sembra il più convincente di tutti, oppure b) il ragionamento di Sarah mi sembra molto convincente; Ted Turner contributed most generously può significare a) Ted Turner ha dato il contributo più generoso, oppure b) Ted Turner ha dato un contributo estremamente generoso.
