«Завязанный язык». Выражение используется в переносном значении и значит «молчаливый из-за стеснительности, страха или смущения». В XVI в., когда это выражение появилось впервые, оно имело буквальное значение. Оно обозначало анкилоглоссию — язык с укороченной уздечкой, т. е. когда язык прикреплён к нижней части полости рта практически по всей длине, и такое физическое отклонение лишает человека возможности говорить.My son has no idea how to behave in the presence of young girls.
