IВес. To attach weight to something — придавать значение чему-либо. To pull one's weight — сделать свою часть работы. Это выражение используется в гребном спорте. Тот, кто думает о себе как об очень важной персоне, часто to throw his weight around («разбрасывает свой вес»), т. е. ведёт себя агрессивно и высокомерно по отношению к тем, кого он считает ниже себя рангом. Слово «вес» обозначает важность положения этого человека в обществе, а не вес его тела. Однако to take the weight off one's feet («сбросить вес с чьих-либо ног») — значит «сесть».Come in.
