Gen Mgt1. a form of management. Business administration is used as a synonym for management, notably in government or the public sector. This use has developed from the administration school of thought established by Henri Fayol, which defines management activities as a set of processes. Business administration involves the conduct of activities leading to, and resulting from, the delivery of a product or service to the customer.
