1907-2002Arquitecto de profesion, este realizador, que fue primero director artistico, llega a Hollywood procedente de Europa; habia nacido en Gura Humorului, hoy ciudad rumana y entonces perteneciente al imperio austrohungaro anterior a la I Guerra Mundial. Du rante la mayor parte de su carrera como director, compagino el cine con la television; en ambos medios, logro algun que otro exito, como la infausta Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1957). Mucho mejores son sus filmes de aventuras La espada de Damasco (The Goleen Blade, 1953) y Simbad y la princesa (The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, 1958), rodada en Espana, que cuenta con el trabajo del gran Ray Harryhausen en los efectos especiales.
