(чековая карточка) Пластиковая карточка, выпускаемая британскими банками (bank) ил” строительными обществами (building society) для подтверждения платежеспособности клиента и гарантирующая, что любой чек, выписанный этим клиентом против его текущего счета на сумму, непревышающую указанной в чековой карточке (обычно в пределах 50-100 ф. ст.), будет оплачен. На карточке указываются номер и имя клиента, и она должна быть подписана этим клиентом. Номер карточки должен быть также отпечатан на оборотной стороне чеков, по которым она гарантирует платежи. В настоящее время некоторые чековые карточки заменяются многофункциональными карточками (тиl-tifunctional cards), которые дополнительно выполняют функции наличных карточек (cash cards) и дебетовых карточек (debit cards). -
