половой член. Довольно мягкое слово для обозначения этой вещи, но не детское (тут присутствуют ассоциации с сексом). Дословно "pecker" - птица, которая долбит. Помните анекдот про Василия Ивановича? Петька вспоминает, с какой гордой птицей Чапаева сравнили: "Не сокол, не орел... Дятел? Во, Василий Иванович, точно, вспомнил - долбо*б!" Вот это оно и есть - дятел в смысле... Pecker.(*)
Peckerhead — хорошее, а главное всем понятное слово получается при прямом переводе - членоголов. Хороший человек, надо полагать. А насчет приличий... Так мы про членистоногих, к примеру, еще в пятом классе проходили.(*)
Peckerwood — еще одна расовая обзываловка - для бедных белых на Юге. Это инверсия слолва "woodpecker" (южный дятел). Слово имеет тот же смысл, что и cracker = redneck. Этот дятел, по мнению сельских черных южан, очень на "реднека" похож, у него даже красный хохолок есть. Подсмысл обзывания вам понятен (слово "(*)pecker" мы только что изучили, а "wood" - деревянный). А своим символом они, естественно, назначили другую местную птицу - это blackbird (черный дрозд). Никакого подсмысла - черная птица и все, звучит даже несколько благородно, возвышенно (вспомните нашу, синюю).
