переоценка стоимости активов
Переоценка стоимости активов компании вследствие роста их стоимости за время, прошедшее с момента их приобретения, либо из-за несоответствия их реальной и балансовой стоимости по причине инфляции (inflation). В соответствии с Законом о компаниях 1985 г. руководство компании обязано указать в отчете директоров, соответствует ли, по его мнению, стоимость земли ее балансовой стоимости. Закон о компаниях 1980 г. устанавливает процедуры, применяемые при проведении переоценки основных активов. Разница между чистой балансовой стоимостью активов компании до и после переоценки отражается на резервном счете переоценки (revaluation reserve account) или, что более характерно для США, на счете прибыли от переоценки (appraisal-surplus account) (при условии, что стоимость активов возросла).
