Gell. 10, 3, 5: stroppus est, ut Ateius Philologus existimat, quod Graece strophion vocatur, et quod sacerdotes pro insigni habent in capite. Quidam coronam esse dicunt, aut quod pro coronā insigne in caput imponatur, quale sit strophium. Itaque apud Faliscos diem festum esse, qui vocetur struppearia, quia coronati ambulent;
