Инвестиционный траст (investment trust) с ограниченным сроком существования, в котором уставный капитал разделен на различные классы “доходных” и “капитальных” акций. Владельцы “доходных” акций получают весь приходящийся на акции доход или его большую часть плюс заранее определенную капитальную стоимость при ликвидации фонда. Владельцы “капитальных” акций получают незначительный доход либо не получают его вовсе, однако имеют право на все активы, оставшиеся после выплат по “доходным” акциям при ликвидации фонда.

инвестиционная компания
Компания, которая инвестирует средства, получаемые от своих акционеров, в самые разнообразные ценные бумаги. Ее прибыли образуются за счет приносимых этими ценными бумагами доходов и увеличения капитала. Обычно инвестиции делаются в ценные бумаги компаний, котирующихся на фондовой бирже, но иногда-и в бумаги не котирующихся на бирже компаний. Акционеры инвестиционной компании имеют примерно такие же преимущества, что и члены паевых трастов (unit trusts), т.е. распределение рисков, связанных с инвестициями, и пользование услугами профессиональных менеджеров. Инвестиционные трасты, которые, как правило, не являются трастами (trusts) в обычном понимании этого слова, но частными или публичными компаниями с ограниченной ответственностью, отличаются от паевых трастов, в которых инвесторы покупают паи, не будучи акционерами. Некоторые инвестиционные компании ориентируются на высокий рост капитала (капитальные акции (capital shares)), другие-на высокий доход (прибыльные; доходные акции (income shares)).
